I have been asking God a lot of questions lately. What do you want from me father? What does a life set apart look like? What does holiness look like? I have asked God to reveal to me what being set apart looks like. I desire a set apart life. He has called us to live a life set apart. I don't want to conform to the world. I will admit this is very hard for me. My fleshly desires want me to conform to the world and be a part of the world and my sinful nature wants me to go back to my old ways and live the way I did. This has been a constant battle in my heart. I can feel a battle going on. A battle between living a set apart life and a life conformed to the world. I am choosing to live a life set apart even though it is a daily struggle. I desire holiness. I want to be holy. As he reveals holiness to me he also reveals how broken and messed up I really am. I have so many heart scars that I thought were being healed but I have a lot of healing that needs to be done and only he can do the healing. Nothing in this world can heal me. The world may offer me temporary satsifcation and temporary happiness but it will only leave me empty and even more broken than I already am. My beloved has been revealing verses to me about what a set apart life looks like and what my life and your lives should look like if you have surrendered your life to Him.
Romans 12:1 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
-He wants me to present my life as a living sacrifice to show him my worship. This has been hard for me. Because he wants us to give him every aspect of our lives and my selfish ways want me to keep part of myself from him.
Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
-I constantly try and conform to the world. I listen to music I shouldn't, watch movies that aren't pleasing to my beloved, talk in ways that I am ashamed to admit, take my dating life into my own hands, and the list goes on. I don't want to conform to this world. He calls us not to conform to the world. He wants to transform us so that we will know what the will of God is and what is pleasing and acceptable to him. This is hard and this is a daily surrender. But I don't want to conform to the world father. I want you to transform me and my heart.
Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

John 17:15-18 ESV
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.
-He has sent us to the world. He wants to sanctify us in the truth. I ask that you would sanctify me in the truth father. He sent us here but is protecting us from the evil one. I am not of this world. This is not my home. Heaven is my home. Until then he calls me to speak the truth.

Romans 6:6 ESV
We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. ...
